Paul Louchet (1854-1936). Pair of earthenware Art Nouveau vases, circa 1900. Glazed earthenware, chiseled gilt bronze. Louchet seal on base. Pair of vases in earthenware, decor of purple and pink streaks on brown and brick red background. The gilt bronze mounts are chiseled in a decor of flowers and foliage typical of Louchet, circa 1900. Louchet was a painter and bronzier, specialist in statues of small dimensions, Paul also executed jewelry, pendants and ceramic settings. At the 1900 Universal Exhibition, he sent several works by Louis Chalon representative of the Art Nouveau style. This all-round artist was a friend of Lalique, Daum and Majorelle.
